Our Vision
Our Vision
To love one another in times of joy, grief, and temptation; sharing everywhere the Christian faith expressed in Holy Scripture, and making this faith evident in our individual lives through the discipline of the Holy Spirit
“He loves us beyond comprehension, and we cannot diminish his love for us.”
Our Mission
To equip every member, of our church, to lovingly and effectively reach our community and world for Christ

The Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV), founded in 1823, is an umbrella organization of Baptist churches.
The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is a Christian network of individuals and churches working together to spread the hope of Christ.
The Goshen Baptist Association is an association of Baptist churches in Virginia dedicated to joining resources for the purpose of spreading the Good News to our communities and beyond.
Dr. Roy Thomas
Intentional Interim Pastor

PASTOR ROY THOMAS is a Charlottesville native. He is married to Jane Smith Thomas, who for many years was a teacher and administrator at Covenant School in Charlottesville. They have three children and six grandchildren.
Pastor Roy was a traditional pastor for 35 years (28 years at Crozet Baptist Church in Crozet, Virginia). He was an intentional interim pastor for 10 years. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He did post-graduate study at the Virginia Episcopal Theological Seminary and at the Center for Congregational Health at Wake Forest University.
Pastor Roy's passions include his wife, children, and grandchildren; also UVA basketball, trout fishing, and golf. He has been attending men's basketball games at the University of Virginia for 65 years.
Pastor Roy seeks to fulfill his biblical calling in Ephesians 4:11-13:
11 So Christ himself gave…pastors…
12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
1 Peter 4:8-10
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
