PASTOR ALLAN SMITH
A native of Virginia who was raised in South Carolina, Allan was called to Mechanicsville Baptist Church in January 2023, having served in a variety of ministerial roles in churches located in South Carolina, Virginia, Texas, and, most recently, North Carolina. Allan earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia and worked in operations analysis before enrolling at Duke Divinity School, where he completed his M. Div.
Allan appreciates the local church being a place where people of all ages and backgrounds worship together. He believes the church is a place of discovering who you are and whose you are in Christ while considering how to be Christian in God’s world. It is also important the church considers those questions as a community of faith while becoming integrally connected and engaged with the local community.

1 Peter 4:8-10
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
