Dear Barbara,

I am collecting books for children who are living in poverty and do not have access to books. So many parents have to decide between putting food on the table, paying for the heat or putting gas in their car that there is not any left over money for books. Children of all ages should have books, unfortunately through my home visits, they do not have books. In one local school, over 80% of the incoming preschoolers have never held a book in their hand:( I would love the opportunity to turn this around. I will be delivering the books with the local police officers, going door to door giving out books in our most impoverished neighborhoods. Through reading we can end poverty! Thank you for all your encouragement and assistance.

God Bless,
Laurie
